Using the Great commission as our guide (Matthew 28:18-20), we have chosen a
mission statement that is used to explain why we exist as a church...
Mission: God has called us to be involved in fulfilling the Great Commission in our
community and world. Therefore, we will make, teach, and send disciples who love the
Lord our God, and who impact their world through love and service.
Vision: To present Christ to the people of Merced in a guest friendly environment, and
to equip those who choose Christ with what they need to become fully devoted
followers of Him.
Values: There are certain common values that unify our efforts and define our
distinctiveness. We can summarize our core values using the following statements and
using the acrostic: I.M.P.A.C.T.
I—Instruction in God’s Word. We believe that God-led teaching helps in the
transformation of people’s lives and in the church. The Bible shows us what can
happen when people correctly respond to the word of God. We need not only
discover the truth, but also apply it to our lives.
M—Mobilized for Ministry. We believe that the church has been redeemed for a
reason, converted to a cause, and saved to serve. The result is that Christians will be
fruitful and fulfilled, and the church will be fortified.
P—Praying with faith. We believe that the church should pray knowing that prayer is
effective and can accomplish much. Through prayer we can exhibit faith in the face of
any challenge or difficult circumstances.
A—Adoring God in Worship. We believe that in worship, God is asking us to do
something that we were uniquely designed to do. To have such a high view of God that
we are overwhelmed by His awesomeness and catapulted into His presence through
worship.
C—Caring for Each Other. We believe that Christ-followers can serve together in
harmony by concentrating on Christ and not their differences. We believe that
relationships should fill every aspect of church life.
T—Telling Others the Gospel. We believe that lost people matter to God, and
therefore, ought to matter to the church.
